Intro & New Features
CCM has unveiled the revamped Next shin guards along with their protective line for the 2026 season. These shin guards are designed with PE foam calf guards, a JDP kneecap, and a nylon upper lock strap with a wide elastic calf strap to keep the padding in place while on the ice. If you’re new to hockey or just getting back into the swing of things, these shin guards are a great choice for hockey players.
Construction
These shin guards are constructed with an anatomical narrow fit design. This provides a connected fit that does not feel bulky, in a lightweight, mobility-friendly design that is well suited to recreational players, regardless of their age.
Calf Protection
To protect the calves, CCM created these shin guards with a PE foam calf guard with plastic inserts. When fully adjusted, the plastic inserts reinforce protection on the sides of the calf guard, while the PE Foams wrap around the leg and provide lightweight protection that is shaped to fit any player.
Knee Cap Protection
The knees are protected with an optimized anatomical geometry with a JDP knee cap. This sturdy kneecap has a flex point that offers more freedom of movement, plus the JDP construction is designed to disperse impact force away from the knee joint.
Shin Protection
The shins feature an anatomical geometry with strap groove, which is designed to provide players with a reliable level of protection.
Strapping System
To keep the shin guards in place, CCM included a nylon upper lock strap with a wide elastic calf strap. The straps feature a velcro attachment that connects to a velcro landing which keeps the padding in place while on the ice, while also not allowing for any unwanted movements. The strapping is designed to be comfortable and easily adjustable for all players.
Liner
The inside of the shin guards feature PE foam with a removable sublimated liner. The PE foam is designed to provide a reliable level of comfort, while the sublimated liner is designed to manage moisture and keep the pads dry and lightweight. Together they allow for a custom fit, easy maintenance and a good level of protection.
